Bill began his career with George Schmitt & Co. in 1974 as the plant manager of the Connecticut Printing Division. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering at Worchester Polytechnic Institute and a masters degree in business administration from Columbia University.

He is an inventor or co-inventor in 14 US patents issued to George Schmitt & Co..
